Visit to the LORETO Prague, cultural monument

On Saturday, April 22, 2023, the UCT Prague Welcome Office organized a guided tour for our foreign students and postdocs to one of Prague's cultural monuments LORETO, which belongs to the Capuchins religious order.

The guide Mr. Ing, Martin Bělohradský (also a graduate of UCT Prague) provided us with an excellent explanation in English of the history of this memorable place. Participants of our tour admired the famous diamond monstrance "Prague Sun" and other treasures and other cultural heritage artifacts hidden in the monastery premises.

Our group enjoyed beautiful sunny weather, so we walked also through the picturesque streets of the New World and reached the house where the famous Danish mathematician and astronomer Tycho de Brahe lived in the 1600s.

We all had a wonderful time and that is why we are planning to visit other cultural monuments of Prague in near future.

Are you interested in more information or do you have any ideas for planning other cultural events? Feel free to write us to welcome@vscht.cz
