Permanent residence permit for non-EU nationals
For this type of residency you will need:
- Green application form - needs to be printed out in colors, filled up in Czech language. Purpose of your stay is TRVALY POBYT PO 5 LETECH
- Passport - copy of the first page with your personal details and of all pages with some stamp or/and visa!
- 1 passport size picture (3.5 x 4.5 cm)
- Fulfillment of the condition of 5 years continuous temporary residence – apply at the Ministry of the Interior for the certificate of the history of your residence on the territory of the Czech Republic
- Accommodation contract – original; in Czech language
- Proof of funds – job contract with all amendments, original; in Czech language
- Czech language exam certificate – The level of the Czech language test for permanent residence is level A2. More information how the examination looks like can be found here: https://cestina-pro-cizince.cz/trvaly-pobyt/a2/en/
- KOLEK (revenue stamps) in the amount of 2 500 CZK - stick it to the green application form under point 33.
All documents shall not be older than 180 days except your passport at photo. It is necessary to use original documents or certified copies and all documents has to be translated to the Czech language.
Certified copies can be made at any post office with Czech POINT logo. You will just show the original document and simple copy to the clerk and he/she will verify that the copy is the same as the original. There is a fee 30 CZK for every started page of the authenticated document sized A4 or less. Only your passport/ID card cannot be verified, but you will show it at the Ministry of the Interior in person.
You will handle these documents to your UCT Mobility Coordinator who will schedule an appointment for you at the Ministry of the Interior.
Your presence is a must! For the Permanent residence you have to apply in person. The MOI has 60 days to make a decision on your application.
Please make sure that there is a postbox in the house where you live and that your name is written on it. The MOI may have additional requests for information or may request additional documents and they are sending these requests by registered letter.
Permanent residence permit for an EU citizen
For this type of residency you will need:
- Brown application form - needs to be printed out in colors, filled up in Czech language
- Passport/ID card
- Fulfillment of the condition of 5 years continuous temporary residence – apply at the Ministry of the Interior for the certificate of the history of your residence on the territory of the Czech Republic
- 2 passport size picture (3.5 x 4.5 cm)
- Accommodation contract – original; in Czech language
- KOLEK (revenue stamps) in the amount of 200 CZK – stick it to the brown application on the first page

- Document confirming the fact that you are a family member of an EU citizen
- Fulfillment of the condition of 5 years continuous temporary residence – apply at the Ministry of the Interior for the certificate of the history of your residence on the territory of the Czech Republic
- 2 passport size picture (3.5 x 4.5 cm)
- Accommodation contract – original; in Czech language
- KOLEK (revenue stamps) in the amount of 200 CZK – stick it to the brown application on the first page
